OoPRR#4

Well, we've been busy here at Out of Print Records Records on our newest non-release and here it is, born to-day, a SISTER LABEL! Hooray! The new label will be called LEIA in honor Luke Skywalker's estranged sister. Remember when Darth Vader and Luke were fighting and DV read Luke's mind or whatever and said, "Ah...a SISTAH", that's where the inspiration comes from. If you have a record label one of the most frustrating things you can do to your fans is start a sub-label. There is a grand tradition of this...probably. Notable sub-labels that I have collected include Factory Benelux. Factory Benelux was seen by Tony Wilson, of Factory, to be a garbage pile, but they really did release some great records under the direction of Michel Duval and Annik Honore. Check out: Crawling Chaos "Gas Chair", New Order "Everything's Gone Green" and anything by Section 25 and Stockholm Monsters. There are plenty of crummy sublabels and plenty of great sublabels. Did you know Merge Records has a sister label called Wobbly Rail? They DO! Record labels are, after all, businesses so it's like when a dude who owns a car dealership also owns a sub shop, two different business, one owner. So all releases on Leia would be great and eventually be OUT OF PRINT. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ORDER.
